Community Guidelines

Last updated: September 11, 2026

These Community Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. When you post, comment, react, message, join a chat, add a pin to the map, host or attend a meetup, or take part in any Vitality community space, you agree to them.

1. Why This Space Exists

This community exists so that beauty and wellness professionals have somewhere honest to land.

You work in an industry that asks you to hold everyone else's day. Here, you get to put that down. People come here to be real about burnout, money, boundaries, grief, growth, and what it actually takes to build a culture worth staying in. That only works if this stays a place where honesty is safe.

So these guidelines are not here to make the space stiff. They are here to keep it soft, on purpose, by being clear about what we will and will not hold.

2. Our Agreements

These are the six agreements every member accepts before entering the community, and recommits to every 90 days. They are the heart of this document. Everything below is detail.

  1. Growth at your own pace. No comparing, no competing. Honor your journey and everyone else's. Self care over self criticism.
  2. Own your words. Use "I" statements. Share from experience, not judgment. What is shared here stays here. No gossip, no projection.
  3. Lead with heart. Show up fully. Be on time, be present, be open to growing. When conflict happens, repair first. Apologize openly and rebuild trust.
  4. Collaborate, do not compete. Invite support, do not demand it. Respect people's time and ideas. Ask permission before borrowing someone's work.
  5. Everyone belongs. Anti racism, anti bullying, all voices honored. We create a space where every person feels valued, seen, and supported.
  6. Embrace change. Stay open to new ideas, technology, and ways of doing things, as long as they serve our wellbeing and do not overwhelm it.

3. Who Can See What You Post

Before you post, know your audience. The community has several different spaces, and they reach different people.

Space Who can see it
Vitality wide feed Every member of The Vitality Project across all memberships and roles
Team space The members of your salon or studio, and your owner or champion
School space The students and teachers at your school
Owner or leader only spaces Salon owners, champions, and school leadership only, not the team or students
Group chats and cohorts The members of that chat
Direct messages You and the person you are messaging
Map pins and meetups Members who can see that map layer, plus, for public meetups, guests you invite
Profile Depends on the field. You set each one to Vitality wide, team or school only, or private

Individual survey answers, journal entries, Vital Check responses and AI conversations are never shown to a salon owner, champion, school or franchise administrator. An organization sees aggregated results only, and only where at least three people answered.

Three things to hold onto:

  1. Your owner, your champion, or your teacher may be in the room. In salon and school memberships, leadership are members too. Post accordingly.
  2. Nothing here is private in the legal sense. Even a direct message can be screenshotted by the person receiving it, reported to us, produced in a legal proceeding, or seen by our team when we investigate a report. Community spaces are not confidential, not privileged, and not therapy.
  3. Deleted does not mean gone everywhere. Once something is posted, other people may have already seen it, saved it, or quoted it. We can remove a post from the app. We cannot pull it out of someone's memory or camera roll.

Who sees what is set by the space you post in. There is no setting anyone can get around. A salon owner, champion, teacher, or school administrator can never see an individual member's survey answer, Vital Check response, journal entry, or AI conversation, no matter what role they hold. If you are ever unsure who can see something you are about to post, look at the audience selector on the post itself. It is the answer.

4. Confidentiality: What Is Shared Here Stays Here

This is the agreement that makes everything else possible.

  1. Do not repeat what someone shares. Not to your team, not to your friends, not on social, not on a podcast, not in a group chat outside Vitality. Not even anonymized, if the person could be recognized.
  2. No screenshots. Do not screenshot, photograph, screen record, copy, or forward another member's posts, comments, messages, profile, or anything said on a call, and do not repost it anywhere. This applies to the feed, chats, DMs, live calls, and breakout rooms. The one exception is reporting: you may capture something to report it to us or, where appropriate, to law enforcement.
  3. Do not share someone else's private information. No addresses, phone numbers, personal emails, employer details they have not shared themselves, family details, immigration status, legal matters, financial details, or location. Do not out anyone. Do not share anyone's photo without their permission.
  4. Do not share someone else's health information. Including mental health, diagnoses, medications, treatment, recovery, pregnancy, or disability. What a member shares about their own health is theirs alone to share. This includes health information about your team, your students, your clients, and your family.
  5. Do not record. No recording of live calls, circles, or meetups without the explicit permission of everyone present, and never of a moment where someone is sharing something vulnerable.
  6. If you want to quote someone, ask first. Every time, for every use, including a caption, a slide, a newsletter, or a training.

If you tell us something in a report, we treat it with care. We may still need to tell the person what was reported in order to act on it, and we may be legally required to disclose information. See Section 9.

5. What Is Not Allowed Here

Be honest, be human, and be uncomfortable when growth asks you to be. None of that is against the rules. These things are.

5.1 How we treat each other

  1. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, stalking, pile ons, or repeated unwanted contact after someone has asked you to stop.
  2. Hate speech, slurs, or demeaning content targeting race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, body size, or any other protected or personal characteristic.
  3. Threats of violence, encouraging violence, or wishing harm on anyone.
  4. Sexual content, sexual advances, sexualized comments about someone's body or appearance, or sharing intimate images. Non consensual intimate imagery, including AI generated deepfakes, is removed immediately and reported to the platform and to law enforcement.
  5. Doxxing, outing, or revealing anyone's identity or location without permission.
  6. Gossip about a named person, whether or not they are a member. If you would not say it with them in the room, it does not go here.

5.2 Honesty

  1. Impersonating anyone, including Elizabeth Faye, our team, coaches, another member, a brand, or a licensed professional.
  2. Claiming credentials, licenses, or certifications you do not hold.
  3. Presenting AI generated text, images, video, or audio as a real person, a real event, or your own lived experience.
  4. Fake accounts, fake reviews, fake stories, or vote and engagement manipulation.

5.3 Selling and recruiting

  1. Spam, repetitive posting, mass tagging, and mass DMs.
  2. Unsolicited selling and unsolicited DM pitching. Sharing what you do when it is relevant is welcome. Turning the feed or someone's inbox into a sales channel is not.
  3. Multi level marketing, network marketing, downline recruiting, "I'm looking for 5 women," income opportunity pitches, and any recruiting that depends on enrolling other people.
  4. Poaching. Do not use the community, the map, or DMs to recruit another member's stylists, students, or clients away from them.
  5. Promoting competing wellness programs or courses to our members without our written permission.
  6. Chain messages, referral farming, giveaways requiring shares, and crypto, investment, or income claims.

Where we do welcome your offer: your offer belongs in the members offer space, where it is welcome, and nowhere else.

5.4 Health and safety information

  1. Dangerous health or medical misinformation. Do not tell another member to stop taking their medication, skip treatment, leave their therapist, or substitute a practice for care. Do not promote a product, protocol, supplement, cleanse, fast, or practice as a cure, treatment, or prevention for any condition.
  2. Diagnosing, treating, or advising another member on a medical or mental health condition, unless you are a licensed professional acting within your license, and even then, not here. Refer them to care instead.
  3. Content promoting disordered eating, self harm, suicide, or substance misuse, including "what worked for me" instructions, methods, numbers, or before and after content used as a target.
  4. Illegal activity, or instructions for it.

Share your experience, not your prescription. "Here is what helped me" is welcome. "Here is what you should do about your condition" is not.

5.5 Other people's work

  1. Posting content you do not have the right to post, including other people's photos, videos, music, writing, courses, or client images without permission.
  2. Sharing Vitality curriculum, worksheets, recordings, guides, or program materials outside the community, or with non members. Your membership is for you and your enrolled team or school. It is not transferable.
  3. Scraping, bulk downloading, or using automated tools on the community, or using anything posted here to train an AI model.

6. When Someone Is Struggling

A lot of what gets shared here is heavy. That is allowed. This community is a place where hard things can be said out loud.

If you are struggling: you can say so here, and you will be met with care. Please also reach for real support. If you are in crisis, or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, get help now. In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency. Outside the United States, call your local emergency number. Full safety information is on our Wellness Safety page.

Please understand: this community is not a crisis service. It is not monitored around the clock. Posts and messages may not be seen for hours or days, and no one here is on call. Never rely on a post, a DM, a chat, or our AI features to get help in an emergency.

If you see someone in crisis:

  1. Respond like a human, not a fixer. "I see you. I'm glad you said it." goes further than advice.
  2. Share the crisis resources above.
  3. Report the post to us so our team can follow up. Use the report option, and if it is urgent, email support@jointhevitalityproject.com with "URGENT" in the subject.
  4. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services in their area. Do not wait for us.
  5. Do not screenshot it. Do not discuss it with other members. Do not post about it.

What we do: when a post or message indicates risk of self harm or harm to others, our team reaches out to that member with resources and, where appropriate, limits the visibility of the content. We are not clinicians, we do not provide crisis intervention, and we do not guarantee a response time. We may contact emergency services where we believe someone is in immediate danger, and we may be legally required to report certain things. We do not contact a member's employer, salon owner, school, or family about crisis content as a matter of routine. We contact emergency services only where we believe there is an immediate risk to someone's life.

7. Minors and School Communities

Some of our school members are students who may be under 18.

Rules that protect young members, and that everyone must follow:

  1. Adults do not DM student members privately. Direct messages between an adult member and a student account are blocked in the product. Conversation with students happens in the school space, where a teacher can see it.
  2. No adult may ask a student member for personal contact details, social handles, photos, or to move a conversation to another platform.
  3. No sexual content, no romantic advances, no comments about a young person's body or appearance, in any space, ever.
  4. Students do not attend member organized meetups without a parent, guardian, or their school's supervision.
  5. No selling to, recruiting, or soliciting student members, including for jobs, products, affiliate programs, or anything else.
  6. School spaces are for school members. Do not seek access to a school space you are not part of.
  7. If you believe a young member is being harmed, groomed, or is at risk, report it immediately to us and to the appropriate authorities. Do not investigate it yourself.

Teachers and school administrators are responsible for supervising their students' participation, in line with their school's own policies. You must be at least 18 to create an account or purchase a membership. Students under 18 may use The Vitality Project only through a school program under a signed agreement between the school and The Vitality Project, LLC, and that agreement governs their participation, the consent obtained for them, and what the school can see. No one under 13 may use the services.

8. Reporting and Blocking

If something is wrong here, tell us. You are not being dramatic, and you are not tattling. You are helping us keep this place what it is.

8.1 How to report

  1. Report a post or comment: use the report option on the post. A report option exists on every post, comment, profile, direct message, group chat, meetup, and map pin.
  2. Report a message or a chat: use the report option in the conversation.
  3. Report a person: use the report option on their profile.
  4. Report a meetup or a map pin: use the report option on the listing.
  5. Report anything, any time: email support@jointhevitalityproject.com. Tell us what happened, where, and when. Screenshots help, and capturing something in order to report it is allowed.
  6. Urgent safety concerns: put "URGENT" in the subject line. If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services first.

You can report anonymously to the other member. We do not tell the person who reported them. We may have to describe what was reported clearly enough for them to understand it, which can sometimes make the source apparent.

8.2 Blocking and muting

  • Block someone and you will not see each other's posts or comments, and they cannot message you. A block is mutual and applies everywhere in the community: the feed, comments, chats, direct messages, meetups, and the member map. The blocked person is not told they were blocked.
  • Mute someone to stop seeing their posts without blocking them. A mute hides someone's posts from your feed without telling them, and it does not stop their access to you anywhere else.
  • Blocking is not reporting. If someone broke a rule, please also report it, so it does not happen to someone else.

8.3 How reports are reviewed

  1. A member of our team reviews every report. We review every report within 5 business days, and we prioritize urgent safety reports ahead of everything else.
  2. A person on our team reads every report, looks at the whole picture, and may take the content down while we do.
  3. We tell the reporter that the report was resolved. We do not share what action we took against another member, because that is their private account information.

8.4 Appeals

If we remove your content or restrict your account and you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we sent you, or email support@jointhevitalityproject.com within 30 days, and tell us why. We look at it again with fresh eyes and respond in writing. One appeal per decision. Appeals for removals involving threats, sexual content involving minors, or safety of another member may be declined without further review.

9. What We Can Do

We would rather talk to you than act on you. Most things get resolved with a conversation. When more is needed, depending on what happened, its severity, and whether it has happened before, we may:

  1. Send you a private note explaining what crossed a line.
  2. Edit, hide, or remove content.
  3. Remove a post from a public space and leave it in a smaller one, or the reverse.
  4. Limit your account: pause posting, commenting, messaging, or meetup hosting for a period.
  5. Remove you from a space, a chat, a cohort, or a meetup.
  6. Suspend your account.
  7. Terminate your membership.
  8. Refuse readmission.
  9. Report to law enforcement, and preserve and disclose information when we are legally required to, when someone is in danger, or when it is necessary to protect our rights or another person.

We do not owe a warning before acting, and for serious harms we will not give one. Termination for a guidelines violation does not entitle you to a refund, and your obligations that survive termination (including confidentiality, the no screenshot rule, and intellectual property) continue after your account ends.

We may also moderate proactively. We are not obligated to monitor content, and not reviewing something is not approval of it.

10. Removal, Deletion, and What Stays

  1. You can delete your own posts, comments, and messages. They stop being visible in the app.
  2. Deleting your account removes your profile and your content from the community over the timeframe described on the account deletion page. Replies other members wrote remain, with your content removed or shown as removed. Specifically: your profile and your posts are removed. Your comments on other people's posts are removed. Your messages in group chats show as from a removed member, so the conversation still makes sense. A direct message you sent stays in the other person's inbox, because it is their copy of the conversation. Your map pins and the meetups you created are removed, and anyone who joined one is told it was cancelled.
  3. Some things remain. Backups for a limited period, records of reports and moderation decisions, transaction and tax records, and anything we are legally required to keep. See the Privacy Policy.
  4. Content already seen, quoted, or screenshotted by others is beyond our reach. So is anything you shared outside Vitality.
  5. Removal is going forward. If something of yours has already been published elsewhere with your permission, see the Success Story and Testimonial Release for what happens to materials already in circulation.

11. Your Content, and Marketing

  1. You own what you post. Posting does not transfer ownership to us.
  2. You give us the license we need to run the community. A non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content inside The Vitality Project so the product works: showing your post in the feed, in search, in notifications, in your team's space. That license ends for future use when you delete the content or your account, other than copies retained as described in Section 10.
  3. We do not use your posts in marketing without asking you separately. Not in ads, not on Instagram, not in sales pages, not in a deck, not in an email campaign, not on the website. Every time, we ask, and we use it only if you say yes, in writing, through the Success Story and Testimonial Release, which is the same route the Terms of Service require. A general "yes" you gave once does not cover the next thing. Read that release before you agree to it: the permission it grants is perpetual and irrevocable, and it expressly includes paid advertising.
  4. You are responsible for what you post, including that you have the right to post it and that it does not violate anyone's rights.
  5. Do not use anything posted in this community to train an AI model. That includes us. We do not use community posts to train AI models, and our AI providers do not use them to train their models under our agreements with them.

If you believe something in our community or on our site infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:

Copyright Agent, The Vitality Project, LLC
support@jointhevitalityproject.com (subject line: DMCA Notice)
525 E Amiata Way, Washington, Utah 84780

Your notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work you say is infringed; identification of the material you say is infringing and where it is, with enough detail for us to find it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

We remove infringing material, notify the member who posted it, and accept counter notices. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Knowingly sending a false notice can make you liable for damages.

13. Meetups, Circles, and Meeting In Person

Members host wellness circles, breathwork evenings, coffees, and gatherings, and list them on the map and in Meet Ups. That is one of the best things about this community, and it comes with real world risk.

What you need to know:

  1. We do not host these. Member organized meetups are organized, staffed, and run by the member who lists them. We do not vet, supervise, insure, inspect, or take responsibility for them, for the venue, or for anyone who attends. You attend at your own risk.
  2. We do not background check members. Membership is not a safety credential.

If you are attending:

  1. Meet in a public place the first time. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back. Arrange your own transport and keep a way to leave.
  2. Trust your gut. Leave whenever you want, for any reason, without explaining.
  3. Do not give money to another member, invest with them, lend to them, or hand over personal or financial information.
  4. Do not go to a private home you do not know, and do not bring a student member anywhere without their school's or guardian's arrangement.
  5. If anything feels wrong, leave and report it to us. If you are in danger, call emergency services.

If you are hosting:

  1. Be accurate about what it is, where it is, who it is for, what will happen, and what it costs.
  2. You are responsible for your venue, your insurance, your permits, your safety planning, and anything you lead. If you are leading breathwork, movement, or any physical practice, the Wellness Safety and Professional Disclaimer applies to you too, including the contraindications and the stop rules.
  3. Do not lead anything you are not trained to lead, and do not present yourself as providing therapy, treatment, or medical care.
  4. Do not use a meetup to sell, recruit, or pitch unless you say so plainly in the listing.
  5. Have the crisis resources on hand, and know where the nearest emergency care is.
  6. You may not use The Vitality Project's name, logo, or brand in a way that suggests we are hosting, endorsing, or sponsoring your event. "A Vitality member hosted gathering" is fine. "A Vitality Project event" is not, unless we have agreed in writing.

14. Changes to These Guidelines

We will update these guidelines as the community grows and as we learn. The effective date at the top shows the current version. We announce material changes in the app and, where appropriate, by email. Every member recommits to the community agreements every 90 days, and you will see the current version then. Continuing to use the community after an update means you accept it.
