Wellness Safety and Professional Disclaimer

Last updated: September 11, 2026

1. What The Vitality Project Is

The Vitality Project is a wellness education and culture company for beauty and wellness professionals. We provide education, coaching conversations, community, guided self care practices, reflection tools, and business culture curriculum.

Everything we offer is provided for general educational, informational, and self development purposes. It is designed to support your own wellbeing, your nervous system literacy, your leadership, and the culture of your salon, studio, or school.

This work can sit alongside professional care. It does not replace it.

2. What The Vitality Project Is Not

The Vitality Project, its founder, its coaches, facilitators, moderators, staff, contractors, partners, community members, written content, videos, audio practices, and AI tools are not a substitute for licensed professional care. Specifically:

  1. Not medical advice. Nothing we provide is medical advice, medical care, or a recommendation to start, stop, or change any medication, treatment, diet, supplement, or therapy. We do not practice medicine.
  2. Not psychological or psychiatric treatment. Nothing we provide is psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric care, behavioral health treatment, or clinical supervision.
  3. Not diagnosis. We do not diagnose, assess, screen for, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any medical condition, mental health condition, injury, or disease. Surveys, Vital Checks, reflection prompts, journaling tools, and progress scores inside the app are self reflection tools. They are not clinical assessments and they do not produce a diagnosis or a clinical score.
  4. No therapist and client relationship. Participating in our programs, speaking with a coach or facilitator, posting in the community, or using our AI features does not create a therapist and client relationship, a physician and patient relationship, or any other licensed professional relationship. It does not create legal privilege or clinical confidentiality.
  5. Not crisis or emergency services. We are not a crisis line, a suicide prevention service, a mandated reporting service, or an emergency response service. Our platform is not monitored around the clock, and messages sent to us, to a coach, to the community, or to our AI features may not be seen quickly or at all.

3. If You Are In Crisis

If you are in crisis, or at risk of harming yourself or someone else, get help now.

In the United States

  • Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Call 911 in an emergency, or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

Outside the United States

  • Call your local emergency number, and your country's crisis or suicide prevention line.
  • International directories of crisis lines are maintained by organizations including Find A Helpline (findahelpline.com) and the International Association for Suicide Prevention (iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres). We do not operate, control, or endorse these services, and we cannot guarantee that any listed line is available in your area.

Please do not use the Vitality community feed, chats, direct messages, help desk, or AI features to seek emergency help. Those channels are not monitored for emergencies.

For a fuller list of support options, including what to do when symptoms feel mild, moderate, or severe, see our Mental Health, Safety and Support page.

4. Who We Are, Stated Accurately

Elizabeth Faye is the founder of The Vitality Project, which works with salons, studios, schools, and beauty industry brands.

Our founder and facilitators are experienced coaches, educators and wellness practitioners. Unless we say so expressly for a named person, none of them is a licensed physician, psychologist, therapist, counselor or other licensed health care provider, and nothing in the Service is provided by one.

None of them provides licensed care, and nothing offered through the Service should be understood as licensed care, diagnosis, or treatment.

Our coaches, guest facilitators, and teachers hold their own trainings. Unless a specific person is clearly identified on their profile as a licensed provider acting in that licensed capacity, assume they are not, and that they are working with you as an educator, coach, or facilitator only.

Coaching and facilitation are not licensed activities in most places. Titles such as coach, facilitator, practitioner, breathwork guide, and wellness expert are not licenses, and they do not carry the training, scope, supervision, or legal protections of a licensed clinical profession.

5. Breathwork, Movement, and Physical Practice Safety

Our on demand library and live sessions include breathwork, guided breathing timers, meditation, somatic practices, tapping, stretching, yoga, fitness, sound practices, and cold exposure or similar state shifting practices. These practices are physically and emotionally active. They can change your heart rate, blood pressure, blood chemistry, balance, and emotional state.

5.1 Talk to a professional first

Speak with your physician or another qualified health professional before you begin any breathwork, movement, fitness, or physical practice offered by The Vitality Project, especially if you have any health condition, are taking medication, are recovering from an illness or procedure, or are unsure whether a practice is right for you.

5.2 Do not practice, or get individual clearance first, if any of these apply

Some practices are not appropriate for everyone. Do not begin, and seek individual clearance from a qualified professional first, if you:

  1. Are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are in the postpartum period.
  2. Have a cardiovascular condition, including heart disease, arrhythmia, a history of heart attack or stroke, an aneurysm, or high or low blood pressure.
  3. Have a respiratory condition, including asthma, COPD, or any breathing difficulty.
  4. Have epilepsy or any seizure disorder.
  5. Have had surgery recently, including abdominal, chest, eye, or orthopedic surgery, or have an unhealed injury.
  6. Have glaucoma or increased intracranial pressure.
  7. Have diabetes, an eating disorder, or a condition affected by breath holds, fasting, or intense exertion.
  8. Live with a psychiatric condition, including psychosis, bipolar disorder, PTSD, a dissociative condition, or severe anxiety or panic.
  9. Have osteoporosis, a joint condition, a balance disorder, or reduced mobility.
  10. Are under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, or any medication that affects alertness, balance, blood pressure, or breathing.

Individual practices in the app carry their own cautions on the practice card. Read them. When a practice card's caution conflicts with this section, follow the stricter of the two.

5.3 How to practice safely

  1. Practice in a safe, quiet place where you can sit or lie down, with nothing nearby you could fall onto or knock over.
  2. Never practice breathwork, meditation, guided audio, or eyes closed practice while driving, riding a bike, operating machinery, working with sharp tools or chemicals, standing at the chair with a client, near water, on stairs, or anywhere a loss of awareness could hurt you or someone else. Many practices are designed to make you drowsy or to change your state.
  3. Never practice breath holds, intense breathing, or breath retention in or near water, including a bath, pool, sauna, cold plunge, or ocean.
  4. For longer or more intense breathwork journeys, have another adult present or reachable.
  5. Go at your own pace. Shorter and gentler is always an acceptable choice. Skipping is always an acceptable choice.

5.4 Stop if you feel symptoms

Stop immediately and return to normal, easy breathing if you feel dizziness, lightheadedness, faintness, chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, an irregular heartbeat, numbness or tingling that does not quickly pass, muscle cramping or spasm, nausea, vision changes, ringing in the ears, confusion, or any pain.

Sit or lie down. Get help if symptoms do not pass quickly. Seek emergency care for chest pain, fainting, difficulty breathing, or symptoms of a stroke.

5.5 Emotional activation is possible

This work can be activating. Breathwork, somatic practice, journaling, and group sharing can bring up strong emotions, memories, grief, anger, or physical sensations, sometimes unexpectedly. That can be part of a healing process, and it can also feel overwhelming.

Please have professional support available, honor your limits, and stop any practice that does not feel safe for you. Healing is not linear, and it should never feel isolating or unsafe. If a practice brings something up that you need help with, reach out to a licensed professional. If you are in crisis, see Section 3.

6. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for your own health, safety, and choices. By participating in any Vitality program, practice, session, event, or community space, you confirm that:

  1. You are participating voluntarily.
  2. You have considered your own physical and mental health, and you have obtained any professional clearance you need.
  3. You will use your own judgment, modify or skip anything that does not feel right, and stop when you need to.
  4. You accept the risks described in this disclaimer.
  5. You will not rely on anything we provide in place of professional care.

7. No Guarantee of Results

7.1 Wellness results

Wellness outcomes vary from person to person. We cannot and do not guarantee any particular physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual result from participating in our programs.

7.2 Business and income results

Some of our curriculum covers salon culture, leadership, retention, recruitment, team performance, and business practices. We cannot and do not guarantee any business result, including revenue, profit, retention, recruitment, rebooking, growth, or savings. Any figure, example, case study, or projection is an illustration only, not a promise, and not a representation of typical results. Business outcomes depend on many factors we do not control, including your market, your team, your effort, your pricing, and general economic conditions.

Nothing we provide is legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, or human resources advice. Consult qualified professionals in those fields before acting.

7.3 Testimonials and success stories

Success stories, testimonials, reviews, and member spotlights on our website, in our app, in our community, in our marketing, and on our social channels describe the real experiences and opinions of individual people. Those experiences are personal to them. They are not necessarily representative of what any other member will experience, and you should not assume that you will get the same result. Your individual results will vary.

Stories are edited only for length and clarity, never for meaning. See the Success Story and Testimonial Release. We do not pay or otherwise compensate anyone for a story, testimonial, or review. Where the person who gave a story is an affiliate, or otherwise receives commissions from us, we disclose that relationship when the story is used. See our Success Story and Testimonial Release for how stories are collected and used.

8. Affiliate and Partner Disclosures

  1. We operate an affiliate program. Members and partners who promote The Vitality Project may earn a commission when someone joins through their link or code. That relationship is disclosed at the point of promotion.
  2. We may include links to third party products, services, brands, and partner offers. Some of those links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission on a purchase you make through them, at no additional cost to you.
  3. A commission never changes what we honestly think of a product. It does change our incentives, and you deserve to know that when you decide.
  4. Affiliates are independent. They are not our employees or agents, they do not speak for us, and they are not authorized to make promises about results, refunds, pricing, or outcomes on our behalf.

9. Third Party Resources and Providers

We sometimes point to outside resources such as therapy directories, online therapy platforms, crisis lines, books, apps, brands, studios, and practitioners. We share them because they may be helpful. We do not investigate, monitor, control, verify, endorse, or guarantee them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, safety, pricing, privacy practices, or the quality of anything they provide. Any relationship you enter with a third party is between you and that third party. Please use your own judgment and verify credentials before working with any provider.

10. AI Features

Our AI coach, Victor, and our AI help desk are software. They are not people, they are not licensed professionals, and they can be wrong. Everything in this disclaimer applies to them in full, including Sections 2 and 3. For details on how our AI features work, what they do with what you tell them, and how they handle crisis language, see our AI Transparency and Safety page.

11. In Person Retreats, Events, and Meetups

Retreats, live events, training days, and in person gatherings involve additional risks that this disclaimer does not cover, including travel, venue, food, physical activity, and activities led by third parties.

  1. Attendance at a Vitality hosted in person event requires a separate event waiver, assumption of risk, and health disclosure, signed before participation. This disclaimer does not replace it.
  2. Member organized meetups, circles, and gatherings listed on our community map or meetup pages are organized by members, not by us. We do not host, staff, vet, supervise, insure, or inspect them. See the Community Guidelines for meetup safety rules.

12. Limits of Liability

Our services and content are provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement, and we make no representation or warranty about the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness of any information we provide.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Vitality Project, LLC and its officers, members, employees, contractors, coaches, facilitators, moderators, and partners will have no liability to you for any loss, injury, or damage of any kind arising out of your use of our website, app, content, practices, community, events, or AI features, or your reliance on any information we provide. Your use of our services and your reliance on any information we provide is solely at your own risk. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

The limits of liability, the dispute resolution terms, the governing law, and the limitation period in our Terms of Service apply to this disclaimer and are incorporated into it.

12A. General Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

This general disclaimer sits alongside the wellness specific sections above and does not replace them. Where this section and a wellness specific section above both apply, both apply.
